I am going to say yes because some patients can have complications when they are under sedation and the doctor will need to be prepared for that. I would not go to a dentist that is not fully licensed to do that. I have worked for 3 different general dentists and we always had to refer our patients to see an oral surgeon if they wanted to be sedated because they were not licensed to do that but all oral surgeons are. You really need to look into that if you are planning to have any type of sedation done from a general dentist.
